I have set up a network at home which is fine accept that one computer isn't allowed to log on to the other. Now I found the solution: System error 1385 has occurred - Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer Symptoms: When using net use \\remotecomouter\ahredname, you may receive above message. Resolution: The users do not have permission to connect to the remote computer. To resolve this problem: on the remote computer, select Administrative Tools>Local Security Settings>Local Policies>User Rights Assignment, right-click on Access this computer from the network>Properties>Add Users or Groups, add everyone or any users you want to be able to access the computer from the network. !!!!!!!!! Except that under 'Administrative tools' There is no option for Local security settings. I can't find this anywhere! Where is it!?!?!? Was it stripped from Windows XP home? Thanks, David McKechan
AH! It isn't on Home edition! I found the command for local users and group settings lusrmgr.msc and it said i wasn't allowed to use it! How else do i get around system erroe 1385?!?
