Here's one that has me stumped. The medical clinic where my personal physician has his office recently introduced their new patient portal. In theory I should be able to log in and view certain material related to my case such as lab results,on line payment history, and verification of appointments. After registering I made several attempts to access the portal but could not gain access. I am able to access the clinic web site but when I click on the link that is supposed to take me to the portal log in screen the process times out and stops. I am operating on a small home network with a Linksys RT45G wireless router to which my Dell laptop and desktop are connected. I cannot access the portal with either machine. When bypassing the router and connecting directly to the cable modem I get the same results. However when I connected my laptop to my brother's wireless internet connection I had no problem accessing and logging into the portal. I contacted the clinic's IT department and was told that everything was fine on their end and that mine was the only complaint. I also contacted my cable company and was told that they are not blocking my access to the sight nor was there a problem in their system. This problem is driving me to drink. Anyone have any ideas? Please help!

At a guess I would say it's related to your wired connection, possibly being blocked at the other end because their system doesn't like your isp or block of ip's. Have you tried accessing it through a free web proxy?

Businesses do tend to run an anti-spam filter on their web firewalls which can be touchy.

Yes I tried a free proxy server and still nothing. I can actually access the clinic's home page but not the patient portal login page. The process just times out.
