    gday all,
im trying to convert my .avi files over to mpeg or m2v so i can either burn on dvd or vcd. Ive done this a thousand times and only now it has stopped working.
I usually use virtualdub to extract the audio from the .avi so i can use that as the source audio in tmpgenc, except this time it did not work, the audio was just blank.
I messed around with Tmpgenc for a while, like putting DirectShow priority on 2, that didnt work. And i tried using VirtualDub to extract the uncompressed audio, i read that it would work on tmpgenc, but that didnt work because "no audio decompressor could be found". I finally tried VirtualDubMod and i managed to extract the .wav file. Except when i tried to use that in Tmpgenc the same results occured....no audio in the output file.
Ive been trying to fix this for a while now so any help will be greatly appreciated.

PS im still a newb so im not sure what info to paste.

    Hi rhah !

I have the same problem. Neither the MP2 file or the .VOB files have sound. The avi file was too big so I lowered audio rate to 60 but no sound comes out. I missed something ?

another newbie to help ! thanks to all
