I'm a newbie. I downloaded some music DVD files, joined each ones parts, de-rar'ed each of those, and used Nero to make each into a DVD-R. Three play fine on my PC (none on my DVD player) but one DVD-R has only video and no audio. So I ran a DVD audio ripper on it and that succeeded, so there is audio there -- AC3 the ripper indicated. So I thought maybe I needed an AC3 codec but then I ran the audio ripper on the other DVD-R's I made that do play back audio and they all use AC3 audio too, so evidently I am not missing a codec. Can someone please help me? Thank you! --Doug (doug@jensen.org)

I installed and ran AVIcodec, pointed it at this DVD, and the reeult was:

    File: 150 MB (0.0 B), duration: 0:00:00, type: MPG, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 90 %

    Audio : 0.0 B, 224 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x2000 = AC3 DVM [0x80], Supported

but while AVIcodec was running several times it displayed "DTS not supported," and I see several VOB rows have DTS in the A.1 codec name column.

I hope that helps someone help me. Thank you. --Doug
