    Good morning bright minds.
I have a ps3 that is not giving out any audio/video signal at all, I have tried resetting the system buy holding the power button down 5-10 seconds ,holding eject/power 5-10 sec. still no output. I did notice that the controllers will not connect, i plugged them up using the usb and the 4 lights start to blink but the controller 1 or 2 light never comes on by it self. the fan comes on for a few seconds when i first turn it on but then i hear nothing after. the green light is on as if everything is ok, Is this a motherboard issue or is there something else i can try before i call it quits. Any help or suggestion would be appreciated , thanks in advance..

oh you poor soul, I had the same problem two days ago. Have to send it in, in my case. The box for me to send it in is coming from sony on monday. I unplugged mines and powered it up the next morning and i started normal for a sec, then it asked if i wanted to switch to hd again and poof green and all kinds of funny checkered colors appeared. All while the syncing of the controllers and everything usb, component, and hdmi don't work. it happened out of nowhere one day while i was watching a movie in hd, i went to returned to the XMB menu and this happened. T_T

It sounds like a bricked system update. There is a crazy way to re-flash it involving soldering 32 wires to the IC that holds the .bin file on the motherboard. It could also be a fried GPU. If you're up to trying something crazy, you could re-flow the GPU. I don't think it's this as you'd probably be able to connect the controllers in this situation.

Damn 0_0 in your case i guess you could. Thats a lot of ps3's. I would try the other suggestion with the soldering but i still got warranty on this thing, they already shipped me a box. this sucks i hope this doesn't happen again, i can't afford another ps3.
