i just burned this HD 4.2 or so GB movie onto a dvd-r. when i play it on my standalone player i can see the video but there is no sound. and when i pressed the audio button on my remote it said 'no audio'. although whenever i play it on my computer there is sound. i tried burning it twice. once with nero and once with convertxtodvd. both with no audio. i should say though that the sound has been causing me problems playing it on the computer, mostly being early and then going back to being on time and then changing again even before the burning.
Drag 'VTS_01_1.VOB' from the disk onto 'GSpot' and confirm it's AC3 audio. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_tools/gspot.cfm
AFAIK a DVD with only DTS audio is non conforming, so either an AC3 stream has to be added or the DTS converted to AC3. In any case the DVD has to be demuxed to it's elementary streams then muxed with the new audio. Rip the DVD to a folder. Run 'Rejig'. Select 'IFO Mode' then 'Add' 'VTS_01_0.IFO' from the ripped folder. On the lower left window, check 'Demux Video' button. Select the video and audio streams in the right window;choose an output folder and 'Process'. Exit Rejig. Convert the DTS audio using 'DAudioK' Run Rejig and select 'DVD Author' Select the demuxed video (.m2v) and the converted AC3 audio stream from 'DAudioK'. Test the new DVD folder using a media player then burn the files to DVD with the likes of IMGBurn or Nero Express. Good luck.
