When I reinstall XP, I have to install the drivers from the CD that came with my motherboard. If you don't have a CD then you can typically get it from the PC makers site or the motherboard site - you have to know the motherboard id. You can get the information from the boot screen (press the 'Pause' button on the keyboard and write down the information). The image shows an Asus P5P800 board. In my case I would go to the Asus site and find that particular board and the associated drivers.
