no CD-rs work! PS2 or PSX

    I just installed the Duo SE2 PS2 on my v7. Games play great except for some:

    PS2 DVD-r - work always
    PS2 DVD Originals - work always
    PS2 CD-r - NEVER work
    --
    PSX Originals - work always
    PSX Import Originals - NEVER work
    PSX backups - NEVER work

    any ideas? as far as what wires i should try?
    i only tried about 10 time or so for each, giving me 100% either way on each test. So my question is how i aproach the problem?

    I have the exact same problem with my v9. Bizzarly though, if i stand the unit on its side it boots up fine.
    Any one have an idea why this happens?

    ya i have a loader model ps2 and it does the same
    tried a new (larger one) and it worked fine
