I changed the thread title because I've gotten everything hooked up and running up to this point. The problem is when I start Jungle Flasher, I keep getting the error "no comports were found during enumeration". Eventually, JF comes up and when it does, my drive does show up in the drive properties. Then I run into another problem though- when I click the "intro/device ID" button, I get the error "MTK Vendor intro failed". Am I doing something wrong?
Since you are talking about comports, I assume you are trying to do a Lite-ON. That would be the only reason you would need comports. If in fact you are trying to do a Lite-ON, I believe you would get that error after pressing Intro. Only way to get a good flash chip properties of a Lite-ON is after you erase the firmware but you don't want to do that just yet.
