This should be easy for anyone who isn't as dumb as me. I have authored a few DVDs and when I play them in the player, there is no digital output(via fibre optic) to my stereo. I can hear it via the old analog RCA cords. My question is, does the audio have to be in AC3 for me to get a digital output? None of the DVDs I've made have had AC3 audio (can't seem to work out how) I've been using TMPGnc 3 Xpress
You need the tmpgenc AC3 plugin, which won't work with Xpress. You also must have AC3 audio on the disk to get "digital". AC3 is commonly DD2.0 or DD5.1 The mpa/mp2/wav or whatever audio you used is not digital format (in the way you're talking about digital).
