    Someone please help !!

Recently took the plunge and purchased a DVD recorder, but now after only one use I am continually getting the message 'No Disk' when I insert a disk into the drive. I have tried pre-recorded disks, empty disks and even audio CD's to no avail. The machine whirs away for a couple of minutes and then displays tyhe message.

This is kind of irritating, so I'm hoping one of you experts can help a technical fool!!

    Many thanks in advance,

    Stirly

It is a Technika DVDR2005 DVD Recorder. It was made for Tesco Stores apparently, but I got it on Ebay!

Have you tried to clean the laser with a CD/DVD cleaning disk?

I have indeed, but the same problem occurs. It whirs away for a while and then the NO DISK message appears again!
