I have decrypted both Hitch and this Rocky ANthology that I got from London that wouldn't play on my regular DVD player. The directions say that there should be a .DVD file to select to write with, I only get a .MDS and the ISO file. Please help me I am brand new at this. This also disallows me to shrink a DVD as well, so anyhelp would be appriciated.
The reason your disks will not play is that they are in PAL format. I am not sure these will backup, however open Shrink then go to the file tab click open disk image and find your MDS file and open it. For further guides go to this site. http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/index.html If your DVD player still does not play it means you need to convert your format from PAL to NTSC. Or find a player that will play this format. Cyberhome DVD player is cheap 35.00 and I believe it plays PAL format.
I am sorry I am so new at this, Are there directions or a book for beginners? I don't know what any of these extensions mean or how to go about converting. I just want to be able to rent a movie or borrow one from a friend and "back it up". I have Nero suite and the Decrypter and DVD Shrink. I have followed their directions, but when I follow the steps as I said by the time I get to the "burn to disc" step, all there is is a ISO and MDS file. I can play them on the computer no problem, but how do i burn them to a disc that will play for sure in my DVD player. By the way my DVD player is brand new and I know it playes MP3's and stuff as far as what file extensions it playes I am not sure.
Go to the guide site I gave you above it will give you step by step instructions on how to back up your movies. Also you can read through the other sites listed in my sig.
