No end play with vcd on my stand alone dvd player

My problem with vcd's on my stand alone dvd player (Technika 1020) is that it plays fine until the last few minutes, then it just stalls.
It also happens with one vcd disc with a few short movies on it, it wont play the end bits of all movies on that same disc.
The vcd's, i made from mpg movies with NERO, play fine on my PC and till the end.
The only clue i found myself is that it could be the burn speed.
Well i tried that and i have the same error.
And something abbout xvcd?! Yes im a noob.
I tried different media and brands and still no good.
