Im trying to record my home made vhs tape to dvd,I hooked up the cables from camcorder (dont have vcr I mean who does) to the ilo recorder. It wont do anything but open and close and says loading,I recorded tape to dvd a while ago dont know if its me or the recorder. I have cable in to the ilo, also video in from camcorder. Out to tv. The only thing different from last time that I can think of is that I now need the stupid comcast cable box to view channels past 20(digital)Does the ilo need the cable box to format ? Nothing happens when I push source button. When I turn on the recorder I dont even get the blue ilo screen. Any help would be appreciated.

Is it an R04 or RHD04
The ilo does NOT need the cable box to properly prepare a DVD
Can it be assumed the camcorder is connected to the front DV input

To insure its not the ilo
    I would disconnect everything.
Connect a proper ilo output [composite if possible} to an input on the TV and Make Sure the TV is set to that input

When the ilo and TV are turned on, within a short time you should be able to see the ilo on the TV and select setup, menu source, etc.
If not, You have done something wrong, or the ilo is not responding

    PS
I have 4 VCR units plus a number of liteon/ilo units
