Did you convert the avi file to a dvd file?

I used imageburn and created an image of the avi. file. I have tested the dvd in the computer and it works in the computer but not in the dvd player.

    Is your player Divx certified?

i have burned a series of dvds and those worked fine. for some reason this is the problem spot. the series that i had burned were ISOs when i had burned them in the first place. It seems to be the conversion process.

Computers are able to play avi files. Your dvd player needs to be Divx certified to play avi files. If it isn't, then you need to convert your movies to dvd format.

All an ISO file does is hold a group of files together. It can be DVD compliant files, data files etc. It is not a conversion. Think of it like a ZIP file. What's inside is what's important. Try opening the ISO with DVD Shrink.

It most likely contains an AVI file. Does your player play AVI files?
