First off, I did not know exactly where to put this because I believe most of Virus/Spyware problems have been solved.

Shortly after my PC had been infected I noticed that none of my programs (everything trying to access the internet) could not. I assumed this just part of the Virus/Spyware issue and thought it would correct itself after the infections were removed.

A member here at AD helped me to remove (I think) all of the infections, however he wants me to post a final HijackThis log in order to make sure I'm completely clear of all infection.

This leads me to believe it is something windows OS related causing the internet not to work such as missing files. I have searched around on google for the last couple of hours trying to find a solution and came up with nothing.

If it helps to give you a start, I have done several test from the command prompt screen. I have ran Winsockfix, ipconfig, regsvr32 softpub.dll Wintrust.dll Initpki.dll Rsaenh.dll Mssip32.dll Cryptdlg.dll, and ntsch reset. I did something involving "yahoo ping" from the command screen and everything came up as it should, but still no internet. My networking also works fine, I can access all of my shared files and have full access in that aspect so I know it isn't networking issues. I have tried a few other things as well but I don't remember everything.

I am clueless now, I have internet on all of my other computers so I know it isn't a problem with my ISP. Hopefully someone here has a solution, as it would be much appreciated.

Thanks for any help you may provide in advance.

Edit: All apologies, I misread the last post from my other thread concerning my Virus/Spyware problem. I thought my loss of internet occurred because of something other than Spyware or a virus, however my other thread was just updated and my Spyware/Virus issues are not yet entirely resolved. Therefore I suppose it could still be an issue concerning viruses and spyware rather than windows itself.

I did not intend to make this seem as if I was creating multiple threads over the same topic. I thought this issue was unrelated to the other. As of now I am unsure because my Virus/Spyware issues are not completely clear as I had misunderstood. There are still things that need to be done before my computer is free of viruses and spyware. If someone feels as though this is an unrelated matter (for I am not sure now), feel free to give your input.

However; if a mod feels as though this needs to be closed for being closely related to my other thread, please do so and all apologies once again for the inconvenience.

Edit: This issue was not caused by spyware or viruses but from Nortons Internet Security blocking my internet. This could be useful information for someone in a similar situation.
