Ok, Hello everyone, Fellow Helpers. Ok I'm stressing becuase first off I have a music video on my iPod and theres no music coming out of my head phones. The video plays and all. I converted it to fit on the ipod or to it's settings or whatever it converts it for. Anyways I think the converting might have took out the sound. Can anyone tell me how to get sound on it. While I'm watching the video Thankx fellow helpers. Please help soon.
It's definitely your video converter causing the problem here. Try this out (something I posted elsewhere):
I don't think that it is a problem with his current converter. It is most likely just the settings that he is converting at. Try to mess with the audio settings and convert the video again using the different settings. If this doesn't work, then play the video on your actual computer without converting it. If the sound isn't there, then it is a problem with the video. If it is there, try screwing with the settings a bit more and if that still doesn't work, feel free to post back. Cheers ;-)
Ok, Ok The First Poster didn't help me that link is all chinese, Anyways the Second Poster thats a Senior Poster Named Jazo, Well anyways when you say screw with the audio settings and then convert it again, OK first off where is the audio setttings that I screw with, Second of all ummm, I have the original one that was downloaded from limewire, and it plays fine, Then when i convert it the sound is gone but the video plays. So it is the settings that i'm converting it at then where are the settings. You sound like you know what the problem is just explain where these things Are. Thankx both of you, At least there are people that actually help on here. Thankx Post back Please
Alright a few things may have been overlooked by the previous posters. Do you have a 60 gig iPod and if so what firmware are you using? And could you see if the video plays with sound on your computer in iTunes. What converter are you using? It will make it easier for us to tell you where to go to change your converter settings if that is the problem. The video has to fit this criteria: Video formats supported: H.264 video up to 768 Kbps, 320 x 240, 30 frames per sec., Baseline Profile up to Level 1.3 with AAC-LC up to [bold]160 Kbps, 48 KHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats;[/bold] MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 Mbps, 480 x 480, 30 frames per sec., Simple Profile with AAC-LC up to [bold]160 Kbps, 48 KHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats[/bold] The bolded parts are what you should be concerned with since your audio isn't playing.
Ok Ok, Thank you some thats actually getting into depth, Ok ok this is going to take a while but ok listen, Here it is 1st, I have a 30GB, Lol 2nd of all this is going to sound like a newbee question but whats a Fireware, 3rd. Ok The original music video of "What You Know About Dat" by T.I, And Theres another one it's "FireMan" by Lil' Wayne, Anyways the original ones downloaded off of limewire transfered to iTunes by going to add a single file ,play and the videos play. and everything down in the left hand corner play ,they play and music comes out as it plays. However, However, Ok wait 4th,4th is I'm useing the iTunes converter, If you go to videos on the things on the side over by where it shows the ipod's connected and everything like radio, podcasts, etc. It says videos and in videos are where the 4 videos are 4 meaning, The original ones that hasn't been converted, and the other ones that have, Now how I converted them was I right click on the original one and then go down to where it says "Convert Selection For iPod" I click that and it goes to it on the top bar where it usually says iPod is upating, well it says it's converting and a clear bar fills up with black showing it's converting and it's progress. and you talked about it has to fit the Criteria, Ok now I have no Idea where to look for that stuff. wouldn't know where to start looking for that stuff. Please help me out on the what Fireware means, So I can get to you back on that and also where to find all the stuff about the critiria. Thankx Man I greatly appreciate it!!
Alright now we can get somewhere. I would first recommend you use a different program to do your converting. The iTunes one quite frankly just doesn't work that well. The program I use, that's free, is Videora iPod Converter. It's pretty simple and if you need any help using it Lethal has a guide stickied at the top of the forum for it. The firmware isn't the issue for you. People that have 60gig iPods using firmware 1.1 had problems playing videos sometimes. Your firmware is just the software your iPod is using, like when iTunes tells you that your iPod is out of date and needs updating, its updating the firmware. The general consensus here is that firmware 1.0 is best, but there arn't any problems with firmware 1.1 or 1.1.1 for the 30 gig iPod so update at your own will. Any other problems just let me know
Yeah I haven't tried the Videroa yet I But I downloaded it, Last night to I could put dvd's on it, Just I haave to read up on it, But I greatly appreciate it I still have to see if it works, But at least you took the time and considertation to go into depth, thats the kinda guy I am needing to know what somthing is or why it works, But yeah thankx Aprecaite it alot, Like I know you like jsut said your using the program, I just didn't know if that program would work for music videos. And I had been eye balling it on my desktop thinking if it would work some how, But now that I know it does work for that stuff I guess I have to go find the sticked Topic on it and get at it. Lol thankx man Peace Hey one more thing, Where is that post at showing how to use the Videroa, Like how do I use the prog. to get music videos on the pod, It only shows how to synch, dvd's to it. Please help one last time anyone or last poster. thankx Alot Peace Sorry one last edit, Ok if you ever wanna get like some cool things for ipod, like hacks, how to customize it more than it already is, then go to www.I-Hacked.com (then go to Consumer Electronics, Then Portable MP3 Player, then look around, I recommend looking around the whole site, It can be very helpful in somethings in the world, very intresting tools you can build, good ways to clean pods, Like brasso don't know if you have heard of it but it to works like a charm you can take all scratches off of your pod with it, I bought some last night and tried it to day and last night, And it's better than anything I'll every use to clean a pod, Go there for the instructions. they're there. Anyways I jsut reommend gonig there and looking around. Ight Peace, thought i'd give somthing back to help you out with life since you helped out with my pod) thankx peace
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/244629 Go there and scroll down some of the way and you'll see the guide about how to use Videora. Videora can convert pretty much any video. It doesn't make a difference if it is a movie or a music video. To convert DVD's you'll be needing DVD Decrypter but it tells you how to do that stuff in the guide. And if you have any other questions feel free to post.
The only reason I said it had to be his converting software is because I've used many programs to convert vids and many have had the same problem because of compatability issues and scanning for the right decoders...
Don't take it personally esspee, it's easy to get a little frustrated when you can't get the information you want. And all of us overlook the other problems people could be having from time to time. Lethal corrects/adds to my posts all the time and it [bold]is a good thing[/bold] that this community can work that way and be constructive.
