Hello..I have a KDL-32ML130 Sony Bravia, LCD.. Im trying to get 5.1 Sound out of my Xbox-360.. I have connected the HDMI from the Xbox-360 to the LCD and used the optical port from the Xbox-360 to my 5.1 Surround sound.. 1st of all the HDMI picture is clear, and so is the sound from the tv but the sound from the tv doesnt sync to the sound thats coming out of the 5.1 surround, theres like an echo effect.. Is there a way to fix this.. Thanks in advance..
I know I could do that but i like with the tv speakers on, it balances out the rest.. Its the way its set up in my room.. Thanks for replying though.. I just thought i probably connected wrong or theres something else that i need to buy..
I agree with aldan............ Never have tv speakers on with surround system. If you like tv speakers, why did you buy a surround system? If the surround system doesn't sound right, you probably haven't calibrated your speakers, or your speakers aren't very good speakers (Bose maybe?). To start with, tv speakers won't sync with the system speakers. The front speakers need to be timbre matched, by being from same brand and series. That way, the sounds don't sound funny, when it pans across the front. There is no way that tv speakers are going to timbre match your other speakers. Go to any home theater forum on the internet, and everyone there will tell you the same thing........turn off the tv speakers! Some have tried to use their tv speakers as their center channel. Bad idea, for reasons listed above. It would be better to disable the center speaker (in receiver's setup menus), and let the front speakers create a "Phantom Center" (same way stereo music makes singer sound like they are in the center), so it's timbre matched. Forget tv's sound, calibrate system speakers, and enjoy!
Thanks for the explanation..I just figuered the tv speakers are supposed to be all together with the 5.1.. I guess it wouldnt be 5.1 after all lol.. I didnt get Bose, there overated.. Since I have a Sony Bravia, I got a Sony Bravia Home Theatre in a box.. I feel like the room is empty with out the tv speakers.. Funny thing is that I have the tv speakers on, and 5.1 on playing music out of my computer and it works fine.. No echos the sound doesnt sound delayed.. When i comes to Playing Xbox-360.. I have the HDMI connection to tv and to the xbox.. and the optical from the xbox to the 5.1.. The sound doesnt sync and it sounds like one sound is hitting the 5.1 quicker then the hdmi..
