i dont have a router, my ps3 is right next to my computer. will that thread work with my myNow modem?
i read on digital spy that someone had the same problem but fixed it doing something with the ppoe but didnt give much information. can anyone explain this in more detail?
PPOE is where you must enter a user name and password to connect to the net, its basically high speed dial-up. Unless you have to do that, its not an issue.
my modem is connected to my pc with usb. the ps3 is connected to the same modem with ethernet cable but it keeps giving an error message. is this because i can only use the usb OR the cable not both at the same time. should i get a wireless router or normal 1?
This is the way I get my ps3 online without a router (I have virgin media but might work 4 u) 1.. Pull all the wires from ur modem and unplug from the mains. 2.. Connect the ethernet to ur ps3 then to ur modem (do not connect to ur pc) 3.. Then switch ur modem back on, ur modem should talk nicely to ur ps3 with no problems. Note... these steps should be followed the same way when u want to get ur pc back online.. Hope it solves ur problem cos it did mine
