    Hi to all
I wander if anyone could advise me on this
Eurovox Max V 2008 has some channels coming up with
    a no signal message
and some channels work fine no problem any idea on how to over come this no channel message

    System info MODEL DVB-XC BOXV TDA S/W VER 1.0 STC4 OCT 28 2007
    H/W VER 2.0T K5 BOOT STRAP V001 S/W BUILD KURO

power scan info MODE NORMAL. START 100.00mhz. STOP 870.00mhz.
SYMBOL RATE 6.952. NEXT 2 LINES ALL 00000. STEP 8.

The box is plugged in direct no splitter
    the area stourbridge, west midlands
opened up box last night it looks like a clone, red paint on screws and twisted wires not flat
capacitors are black but the strange thing is the scart cover is silver and the tuner goes out to 8 vents
it also has made in korea on the back right of box
i do not believe that there is a firmware flash yet
so fingers crossed it might be a symbol rate change and a power scan
have not yet done a power scan
any advise would be appreciated and the series of steps i should take in what order
don't mind putting in keys manually

    many thanks for reading this

Haven't come across many cloned Max Vs, although your one does have the telltale signs of being one.

You are correct in the fact that there is no clone firmware for the Max V, so manual key entry is the only way forward for you. Unfortunately we can not give out information on keys or how to enter them here at Afterdawn.

If you risk putting on the latest firmware 18/04/08 it may kill the box, (or it may not, never had a clone Max V to try this on). But you can always Jtag a box back to life from a firmware kill. Although the risk isnt really worth it.

sorry to be a pain as i have read 100s of posts a bit overwhelming
at which point do i put the keys in ?
    thanks for your time sc0user

im going to follow hitecks post below is this the correct way of doing
what i want to achhive and thanks to hiteck for info

HOW TO SCAN FOR CHANNELS AFTER INSTALLING THE NEW FIRMW@RE.

1, First of all you will need to know who your Symbol Rate, If you get this wrong you wont pick up any Transponders/Channels so download the list linked below before going any further. (if your on Ch0rus use 6875 as your Symbol Rate.)

    Symbol Rate List Here.

2, Now do a Factory Default by pressing ,(Menu) pull right to (Config) pull down then (OK) on (Clear Data) enter 0000 for your pin then highlight (factory default) and press-(OK) then (OK) on your symbol rate. (for the EX-5000 pvr it will show leave recordings or erase recordings)<- this is your choice.

3, Now that you have completed the Factory default you can scan for your channels, go back to the (Menu) screen then (installation) and (OK) on (User Installation) again enter 0000 as your pin then (OK). Now press the yellow button for (Power Scan) then a box will load like one of these.

In each box above notice the Symbol Rates 6952,6887 & 6875, now match your symbol rate which you got from the list downloaded previously to one of the boxes and copy the rest of the information in that specific box to your eurovox powerscan settings using your remote, once after double checking you have entered the info correctly press ok to start the scan.

Take down the email address, or you will get a lot of unsavoury mail!!!! and against form rules.

    thanks to all and sc0user

all backup and running, knew i had to do it
but didnt want to lose the rest of channels
    so just went for it

    Try a powerscan,

    Menu>config>Clear data>enter 0000 then ok.

    now preform a powerscan

Menu>User instalation>yellow button "powerscan"> enter your symbol rate then ok to scan.

Ensure your symbol rate is correct for your provider and location otherwise you wont recieve any channels.

thanks to HiTeck for above info
