I have some videos for which the slider bar (in Windows Media Player) does not work. The video plays properly, but it is impossible to advance the video. Will this phenomenom be reproduced when I encode and later burn the DVD, and if so, is there a way to fix this? Many thanks, Ken
You can only advance the slider after the video has been downloaded. I'm not up on the specifics but there is a difference between streaming video and downloading video. It won't make a difference once the video is put on a DVD. You will be able to fast forward as much as you like, just like any other DVD.
The trouble files I am referring to, are (or are SUPPOSED to be) fully downloaded files (downloaded via P2P). Are there any other instances where the slider would not function on a fully downloaded file? Maybe the file is corrupt? If it is not possible for fully downloaded video to have trouble with the slider (i.e. advancing the video) then the answer would be to redownload the file... Is there anyone else out there that has come across fully downloaded video files for which the slider control does not function (i.e. you cannot advance the video)? Many thanks, HP
