Hi I am not very technical, so please excuse me as I do my best to explain. I have the following codec's installed: K-Lite codec pack AC3 filter I used to use Cucusoft to convert and I found that this took too long, so I searched for something quicker and I came across Winavi Video Converter. I converted some AVI files to DVD and I burned the resulting VOB files using Nero. When I played the disc back, I got no sound, the picture was fine but I had no audio. I have adjusted the AC3 filter to 'loud' (20dps?) and this has made no difference. I would appreciate it if someone could help me please.
Go here http://www.headbands.com/gspot/download.html and download G-spot. Open your avi file in g-spot this will tell you what codecs are missing, if thats what it is. Its best not to install 'packs' of codecs as they can conflict with each other, and cause sync problems, just install the ones that are needed. If you're codecs are installed try extracting the audio before encoding, so that you encode the video and audio seperately
