Today I installed a Radeon HD 4350 video card on my computer, everything except my sound works now. I have tried going over to my control panel and switching over to the Realtek driver, but it doesn't even show up. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
Sound has been set default to the HDMI Audio driver - change the default device in control panel -> Sound -> Hardware.
I can't change my audio driver, because it doesn't give me a choice. I only see the HDMI audio driver and I don't see my Realtek driver at all.
Strange, it will presumably need reinstalling then. Either you use your driver CD, or go to your board manufacturer's website to grab the audio driver.
I have done that I have even tried re-installing my Realtek driver. It STILL doesn't appear under my device manager.
It was set on automatic, then I disabled it and the I enabled it. This is weird though, today I disconnected everything and I enabled and disabled it in the BIOS. It STILL didn't work, I shut down and I hit my computer and knocked it over I freaked out and turned it back on only this time I had sound. I guess this means something was loose or something?
Suggests you might have a faulty motherboard or bad connection, since onboard sound is built into the motherboard.
