    Hey,

I've just made a SVCD which played the picture and sound fine on the computer but unfortunately there's no sound when I try to play it on DVD Player (TV). I've done everythin I could and still I cant figure out whats wrong with it (I've wasted 20 CDs)

First I used VirtualDub (video/direct stream copy-audio/full processing mode-audio/compression-No Compression PCM and click ok) then TMPGEnc and Nero 5.5. I even tried BeSweet and BeSweet GUI, but.. the strange thing is I can play it on computer's DVD drive (with sound and everythin) but not on DVD Player on TV (it only shows the picture).

    I'm goin nuts; plz help.

Try and burn it with VCDEasy or with nero at a lower speed also, was the audio standard for svcd?? (Mpeg-1 Layer 2 (mp2) 44100hz, 224kbit/s)

    Hey,

Yes, the audio was standard for the SVCD (Mpeg-1 Layer 2 (mp2) 44100hz, 224kbit/s).I used BeSweet GUI for that; I also tried VCDEasy, but its not burnin the cd for some reason; but i'll try again.

    thanks for reply.

thanks; by the way I tried VCDEasy one more time and it burned the cd this time, but still no sound. Just one thing: the original AVI file was a XviD; does it matter?

It actually sounds like you dvd player has issues with mp2 playback, which would be very very strange! Does the documentation say anything about audio playback??

What documents? DVD player's? I didnt find anythin, but it recognises that its a SVCD and shows the pictures, so it must support the svcd. I dont know, i've given up.
