I did a search and couldn't find anything related, so I guess starting a thread isn't so bad. I have the Kazaa-Lite Mega Codec pack for all my video and audio needs. I recently used TMPGEnc Plus to convert my AVI to MPEG format, then used DVD Authoring software to change it to DVD format. I burned the files to a DVD with Nero and it played great in my PS2 and DVD player. I tried to play it in Windows Media Player, but no sound, and I can't figure it out. I busted out VideoLan, there's sound, but it's sorta staticy(any solution for that by the way?) But no sound with WMP, any suggestions?

Oh, and while I'm at it, how come X-box's can't read DVD+R movies that are made. I haven't mod'd my X-box yet because I mod'd my older brother's and I can just use his, but I've noticed that with burned movies, the X-box says it's not a valid disc.

Be sure the dvd format is checked in WMP, also make sure the volume is turned up in WMP, sounds dumb but... Not familiar with VideoLan and Xbox is patterned somewhat from the old dvd players which do not play the +R format only -R. You'll have to mod it to play them.
