    Hey all,

    DVD burning newbie here.

Anyway, here's my dilemma. I copied a DVD to my HD using DVD Shrink and burning to DVD-R using NERO. Video and sound are perfect when I play it on my PC but there is no sound when I watch on my standalone player. It says it can play DVD-R and I made sure I didn't uncheck sound tracks on DVD Shrink while copying.

Anyone have a suggestion on how I could remedy this problem?

    Thanks in advance!

    Marc

Have you tried cycling thru the audio tracks with your remote's audio button just to see if they're recognized by the standalone?

If other DVDs play OK on the standalone then I would guess you may have a bad burn due to any number of factors. Try reburning at 4X or slower. Are you using good quality media?

I think so. I'm using Memorex DVD-R. I tried it twice with the same results.

Is it just a single DVD that isn't playing sound? Have you tried burning a different DVD and does it play correctly in the SA. You might buy some -RW or +RW media for experimentation to avoid making coasters.

Got similar problem myself. Downloaded ISO of movie but when burned to DVD using Nero, it works fine on PC but not on set top player. I have tried extracting files with ISO Buster and burning these but with same result. Anyone got any ideas?

Have you tried shrinking the entire disc with menus? Does that work? Do you get sound?
