hi everyone hope im in the right forum. my problem is ive no sound on my pc. my pc is a asrock am2nf6g vsta the drivers all seem to be there theres no yellow mark at side of any of them. ive download realtek ac97 audio from asrock site but still no joy any ideas please
Start with the simple stuff. 1. Did you ever have sound or did this just start happening? Once you can answer that question some meaningful troubleshooting can begin.
Yeah i had sound before. I had to reinstall windows xp tho cos it kept bringing up genuine validation. So i reinstalled it and put the necessary drivers i needed in. The volume control is showing in the bottom right hand corner. Ive clicked on it and tryed to adjust volume. It shows master volume, wave, line, front, rear, side, center, ive noticed tho were it says mute it dnt give me the option to tick the mute on front and rear
OK, looking at your subject, it says "no sound while playing songs". Do you mean that you have no sound just while playing songs or no sound at all? If it's no sound while playing songs, what are you playing? MP3 files, DVD audio, CDs?
In the corner of your screen (you may need to click an arrow to show all the icons) there should be the realtek HD audio icon: If you do not see this, go Start Run and type rthdcpl and hit enter. The icon should now appear. If you get an error saying the file does not exist, you need to reinstall the sound driver. Double click the icon and go to the Audio I/O tab. Unplug your speakers/headphones from your PC then plug them in. A box should appear asking you what you plugged in. Select it and hit ok. Check for sound again, and post back.
the icon is there and had no error ive unplug the speakers then put them back in but no box come up and still no sound
still nothing when i goto control panel then sound and devices click on advance it brings up list of things master volume, wave, sw synth, front, rear, center, side, were it says mute it only lets me click sum, the front, rear and side the mute box isnt highlighted
