Hi... I was trying to use VirtualDub to increase the audio output on avi files. But now, whenever I do that, the resulting audio lacks speech. The music plays file, but speech is lost! Can anyone help me find the fix?
Try saving the audio from VirtualDub;load and adjust the level in 'Audacity' and save it as a WAV file then load the new WAV in VirtualDub. In VirtualDub - 'File' 'Save WAV' In Audacity, select 'Effects' 'Amplify' then save the new WAV ('File' 'Export'). VirtualDub 'Audio' 'Audio from other file' and choose 'Full processing mode' 'Compression' and select mp3. Choose the Beta or the last stable. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/audio_software/audio_tools/audacity.cfm
@Attar.. Tried it, but all I can hear in the Audacity project as well as in the new exported wav (from Audacity) is a jumble of sounds..not at all the audio track I expected to hear.. My guess is that VirtualDub has a problem decoding the audio stream from the avi. I've installed K-lite codecs..but the problem still remains..Virtual Dub in its preview, also doesnt play the speech in the audio..I can hear the music but not the voices!
Make sure in Virtualdub you set Audio/Full processing mode File/Save Wave. When you display File/File information, what does it say about the audio ?
Yes, the Audio was in full processing mode, and the Video in direct stream copy. The file info abt Audio is: Sampling rate: 48000Hz Channels: 2 (stereo) Sample precision: NA Compression: ac-3/acm Codec Layout: 75288 chunks Length: 115642368 samples frame size: 1536/1536/1536 Data rate: 384 kbps
