I have a dvd ripped into an iso file. The dvd is dual audio japanese/english and has english subs. I burnt the iso to a dvd-r using Nero. But when I play the DVD I get no subs. It also wouldn't play in my DVD player or with PowerDVD. I used WMP to play it and all the chapters and menus are there, everything is fine. The only problem is that when I click "Japanese Audio and English Subs" in the Language menu of the DVD I only get the audio but no subs. My guess is that Nero doesn't support subtitles, am I right? How would you guys recommend burning this? I checked in VIDEO_TS on the DVD and there are the video files, the .ifo's, and the backup .bup's. I'm guessing that Nero didn't burn the subtitle files. I'm just a noob so if I'm right about this I feel pretty smart lol. I was going to use DVD Decrypter will it support subtitles?
O, and the original DVD was PAL so would that be why it wont play in my player? I was trying to play it with my PS2.
I downloaded Decrypter. I used it to burn by doing Iso-Write option. But it made another DVD with no subtitles. This is really pissing me off. Why wont it show the damn subtitles? Also, I can only play it using WMP. Maybe I just need a different player? I have Zoom Player and PowerDVD but neither will play it. Some info: original DVD was PAL and DVD Decrypter told me that the ISO was made using DVD Shrink.
OOOOOOOOk, I can play it using WinDVD. It actually allows me to interact with the Menu. In WMP I was clicking "Japanese with English Subs" but it wasn't working. Neither was Real Player. So I thought that the burning process was messing up the subs but I guess I just needed the right player. Also, in WinDVD when I put my mouse next to a menu option it actually became highlighted whereas it didn't with WMP. Because WinDVD is going to expire in 14 days is there another player I should use? Zoomplayer doesn't support DVD playback unless you register. I also realize that I've been solving my own problems throughout this thread. LOL.
