no valid drive/disk found...

    ...is what I get when I try to play, copy, burn a DVD. It just happened all of a sudden, no idea why. Anybody???

    Go to hardware manager, uninstall your drive and reboot your pc. Then windows will auto reinstall your drive upon startup.

    Thanks Ripper,I tried that but still nothing.Its like nothing will read the Drive.Tried System Restore,still nothing?

    Maybe your drive is faulty? How long have you had it?

    Yes, I was thinking that too.Its about a year and a half old. Its a Samsung in an HP Pavillion. Expected it to lsat longer than that though. Device Manager says device is working properly so maybe it is a hardware problem.

    Sorry man thats an HP DVD Writer 640b. Samsung is the HD
