I'm running Vista, with mpcstar player. can't get the video portion of a AVI file to playback? I have downloaded codec pkgs and no joy, I have audio. I get a White Screen, which leaves me to beleive that it is a codec problem......any suggestions would be appreciated.
Follow my lead... and you will find a solution uninstall any codec packs you have, THIS is IMPORTANT 1)get this codec pack and you should be set, try to run avi file after you install it, IT IS A MUST HAVE CONTAINS ALL TYPES' OF AVI CODEC'S http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm 2)make sure all your media players your trying to run it on are up-to-date 3)Get this player-Divx AVi player,specially made for AVI http://www.divx.com/divx/windows/do...r|1202954342&gclid=CM63gJjfzo8CFRGCGgodsRXj9A if the divx player can't run the AVI then you know for sure that the file is corrupt, by now you've reached a conclusion it was either a codec problem and was fixed by the codec pack, it doesn't work on any media player with help of codec, runs only on the divx player.. this means my computer is having a problem running codec's properly, setting change in security software/windows/media player, is needed good luck and i hope i've been help -tripplite
