I have ripped many a film using smart-ripper and then DVD2AVI to give me my video (*.d2v file) and audio file (*.wav file) that I can then use in TMPGEnc, but on some DVD's after I have saved the project on DVD2AVI I end up with no wav file?
The setting are correct, I have it set to output a wav file as instructed in the guide and pressing F5 in DVD2AVI plays the preview ok (but with no sound as it useually does this) but there is no wav file at the end of my long wait.

What can be done to rip sound from *.vob files? is there another way?

Use Vidomi m8 and you don't have to manually convert your audio file(s) as Vidomi does this for you and you get amazing video playback.
