no wi fi on laptop pls help

i have a dell inspiron 1720 laptop cant find networks tryed alsort but think it could be the wi fi swicth or wireless card any answers many thanks

 

check in control panel then devices and under networks make sure you have the wireless cad listed and no conflicts etc, without knowing the history of the laptop it may have had a windows reinstall and missing drivers.

next check to see that the firewall is not blocking your wireless from detecting

check that and reistalled drivers.there is a problem it has a yellow triangle there. it was working b4 but the wi fi light not on think it migth b the wireless card.also checked the wires on card there ok.

 

if the lights not going on at the switch then u may be right and its a hardware fault, if it is a softwware issue/conflict you may be best just doin a clean install of windows and drivers, other options are wireless PCMCIA card or wireless dongle

 

i will try a card when have some money many thanks to all
