hey there i just modded my xbox not that long ago following the instructions at the top. however now that i have had it modded i cant connect to xbox live at all. do i have to turn off the softmod to connect first :S ? is it like a hardware mod that way i have no idea i am new to this i tried to call microsoft suppor to troubleshoot and they said that its hardware but i know its not i can ftp to it fine. and also in media center i can connect to the net to get the weather n stuff there is no way its hardware. but i mean i cant exactly tell them how i know .. :| lol any help u guys give is greatly apreiciated BTW great tut on how to softmod Chris
I'm not totally positive but I believe that tutorial says turn on your Xbox, put the game in, reboot with the game already in so it boots directly to the game and supposedly you are allowed on Live.
ya that makes sense because if you notice when you boot from a game disc the led light on the front stays green i think you just have to set up your account before softmodding tho or on a friends xbox
Did you change your IP settings on your xbox back to automatic. When you FTP it changes to manual. You get to it through MS dash and netwrok settings Hope that hepls!!
i had the same proplem when i first softmodded my xbox heres excactly what i do Step 1. make sure ur xbox is off no press the eject button wait for it to go to the screen that says backup install. and all that Step 2. put in ur game (ill be using halo 2 for exsample) now DONT CLOSE THE TRAY use ur screen and press the button on the screen where it says " close tray" click that button then hit the button on the screen where it says "restart xbox" hit that Step 3. now it should be loading (halo 2, bungie screen) select ur prof then press A click ur online gamertag if it starts signing in CONGRATS if it doesent try doing it again
