I have change to nod32 because my license of norton 2006 had expire, so no new updates ... with nod32 i can get updates and i dont know if nod32 is reliable or if i should buy the license of norton antivirus 2006 for more updates ... i also have ""spybot search and desdroy"" ... i always finde new adwares with this pregram and i want to know if it is a good reliable program ...please help me ...thanks
spybot is bar none. one of the best anti virus programs that one can get however if you really feel strongly about safety and not spending money then get zone alarm and that combined with spybot will probably protect your cpu from anything
nod 32 is a great antivirus program, have had it for oveer 3 years and not 1 problem with viruses. they regularly test these types of programs and nod is the only one I know of that picked up all viruses thrown at it as well as some they made up to see if it would detect them, would recommend it to anyone beachy
i have had many prob with Norton anti-virus and have tried many anti-virus programs...i am currently using Nod32..and so far it juts eems to be the best and user friendly. My recommend that it is very good and even be dads office uses it. So its pretty reliable.
Alright to clear some things up. First to clear some things up, Spybot Search and Destroy is NOT a antivirus program it is a antispywae program. Also ZoneAlarm has multiple products, and not one of them is just called ZoneAlarm. napky if you are sitting behind a router presumably not in a commercial/corporate setting then you shouldn't need a firewall application. And on the topic of ZoneAlarm their Antispyware sucks and their Antivirus is not much better. For Antivirus programs in my opinion the two best products on the market are NOD32 and Kaspersky. With my personal favorite being Kaspersky. I believe both are available at Best Buy should you happen to live state side.
Don't get norton. nod32 is an excellent av and i might add it doesn't lag down your pc like norton. I would recommend getting nod32 if you want to pay for a av and want something that will not slow your computer down at all. Some good free solutions would be avast (my favorite) or avg.
Nod32 is a very comprehensive AV, covers everything from word documents to email. Updates are available on a daily basis which is great. Nod does report back a decent amount of false positives, but with the level of protection it offers, it is hard to complain.
you will have to run a clean tool to completely get rid of Norton or you will have problems Trend Micro,NOD32,Kaspersky are all good AV programs .Avira is said to be better than anything out there but i haven't used it plus its free http://www.free-av.com/antivirus/allinonen.html run several spyware programs like ad/adware spybot etc. my fav at the moment is STOPzilla this is a kickass program but its 19.95 but well worth the money
1. don't use internet explorer get firefox 2.0 (run it through dropmyrights) 2. make sure you have a good firewall and antivirus as recommended by others (I use zonealarm firewall and avg free antivirus) 3. If you have windows xp, consider using "powershadow 2.6" when surfing on the internet. This program will put your computer into virtual mode immediatly without rebooting. Any changes/virus/spyware/etc that you encounter while in the virtual mode will dissappear when you reboot. I've been using powershadow for 6 months and it's good as a last line of defense, when (not if) a virus or spyware gets through your other layers of protection, anything they do whether writing to the registry, installing trojans, changing your homepage etc they will be doing it on a virtual computer. With powershadow you can actually use internet explorer without worrying about your registry getting hacked. The other virtual program that I have used is deepfreeze, but it requires a reboot to go into virtual mode and has a problem of not remembering passwords on browsers. Both worked rock solid when I tried them out, but I settled on powershadow as easier to use, and I like the ability to go into shadow mode only when I needed to. If your always finding spyware and adware, you should look into the virtual programs.
