My gamecube is makeing some wierd noises from the disc spinning with any cd. Is that anything to worry about? I can play for 2 hours but I keep on hearing that noise. Any ideas?

Did you ever manage to get your GC modded?

If you're playing back-ups and it's making extra noise that isn't heard while playing originals, then your laser is just working harder. Adjust the pot or just leave it until it lowers itself enough to stop making noise.

If your just playing originals and it's making noise, just try cleaning the lens with a Q-tip and some rubbing alcohol.

Or check motor if it has got broken, maybe bearings...
Or check does discs scratch somewhere when spinning...

Hard to tell without seeing itself...

it could be the motor was not properly lubricated on assembly of your gamecube if this is the case the damage is done replace the gc drive or the gc your choice also check the fan they are known for going out to
