Hi folks Sadly I only found this forum after stumping up three quid on the Mobilefun web set for the same codes you kind people have been good to post on here However while I am able to unlock my missus Nokia 6230, when I then try inserting either of two SIM cards we have which both work in our old phones and another new phone, I get no signal, no network coverage and I believe with one of the SIM cards it said something like "SIM failed to register" Both SIM cards seem to work with any other phone and this Nokia is definitely unlocked, as twice when I entered codes it told me so and then I tried a third code, it told me it was already unlocked. If it's of any assistance, the IMEI is 355038006713003 and we received the phone from Orange a few days back. It was actually sent out by them by mistake and they since replaced it with another phone, so I am wondering if it's possible they could have done something to prevent it working. Although from the error messages, one would assume it was a SIM problem Any assistance would be extremely gratefully received, as aside from feeling a little foolish for paying three quid for something I could have found here for free with a little more patience, I am also getting loads of stick from the "trouble and strife" after insisting she needn't take the phone to a local shop to try and sort it out, when I could get it done online with a few taps at my keyboard With my utmost thanks in advance in the hope that one of you kind souls might be able to rescue me from the hole I've dug myself Big Love Bernard
Read the following link below. I think you may have a blacklisted phone. http://unlocknokia.byyourcommand.net/viewtopic.php?t=47 Also, this would be your code for that model but most 6230's only allow 3 chances to unlock. #pw+849831267720046+7#
Very much appreciate you bothering to get back to me. I tried the code you gave but again I only get the message "phone not restricted" When I do a manual network search and try to select Orange from the list, I get "No network access" followed by "SIM card registration failed" and since our SIM cards are capable of registering on the Orange network when inserted in every other phone I guess I have to deduce that you are correct and that Orange must have blocked it I wonder if there's any way around this, ie. whether one of those dodgy backstreet phone shops could do something. Or alternatively would I be able to use it if we bought a Pay As You Go SIM on another network Sorry to drive you barmy Again thanks a million for taking the trouble TTFN Bernard
If it's blacklisted, it's pretty much useless and can't be made to work in any way. You mentioned that Orange had just sent you the phone and if this is the case, send it back to them for a replacement. The message you received after entering the code does mean it's unlocked.
What actually happened was that my stepson's phone disappeared when moving home but until they unpacked all the boxes, they couldn't be sure it had gone. As a result Orange refused to replace it because the police report wasn't made within 24 hours. So I wrote to head office to complain on his behalf. Having agreed to send out a new phone, in error they sent out the phone he'd had previously, a Nokia 6230 instead of a Motorola Razor. So when they rectified this, they told me they'd send out a Jiffy enevelope for me to return the Nokia 6230 but when this didn't arrive, I thought we had the perfect excuse to keep it because my missus' phone is cream crackered But it would seem that we can't use it. I wonder if it would work with a PAYG SIM on another network?
