You were done up like a kipper mate

    1) BB5 models can only be unlocked by the network provider and you will have to get the person who sold it to you to do it.

    2) New screens are expensive. You will have to send the 6280 to a Nokia repair centre unless you know what you are doing.

not really, its only £30 and i can get a screen for £20 plus im not bothered about being on 3 since i hardly ever top up my phone anyway.
What do you mean ill have to get the person who sold it to me to get it unlocked???
And surely fitting a screen cant be that hard can it? cant you just take it out and whack a new one in??

The person who you bought the mobile of will have to call the 3 network to get the code as the mobile will be registered in his / her name unless they called up and transfered your details to them (which I doubt), and another thing the person might of already tried to unlock it and failed, which means it's hardlocked and you will be stuck on the 3 network, until a time it's possible to unlock with hardware.

No it is not a simple as "just take it out and whack a new one in" it will have to be taken to a shop that offers a Nokia repair service.

£30 for the unlock code and another £30+ to get it repaired and as you say £20 for the screen.

    Good luck
