Well my hard drive been making a LOUD clicking noise yesterday and i notice this when i woke up. soo i'm guessing for atleast an hour of making the clicking noise. so i'm guessing it failed. It's a Hitachi and the warranty i think is expired.

is there anyway i get try and retrive my DATA?
is there a company that retrieve data from failed harddrive that isn't expensive?
lol umm does geek squad retrieve data?
Also i heard there this one way to retrieve data but it's temporary. you put the harddrive into the freezer in a air tight zip lock bag for about 30+ min and you could boot it up for a short amount of time before it dies on you. Has anyone tried doing that?

sounds like it's not booting at all, ddp. might as well throw him the solutions for a dead, unbootable drive first, then work back from there :D *awaits eagerly to read the master techie's advice*

try the freezing tho might be more than 30 minutes. cost for a company to do it as a computer can't see the drive is about $350Can & up.

i've heard of it & tried it on a toshiba laptop drive that crapped out on a customer & that method didn't work for that drive but might for another drive.
