Can someone put this in one thread in idiot proof Terms from A-z how to do this?
    1. I want to buy a ps3 w the biggest internal hard drive cause apparently some games don't work w external. So should I buy this directly from retail store or is there a betterplace to guarantee it's 1.31 fw
    2. What is the best break device to use so I can play backups, where is the best place to get it and which one is upgradeable for future.
    3. How do I get my dl ps3 game files from my computer to the ps3? Again idiot proof as far as programs I'll need, instructions, what kind of cords

Should I wait on getting dongle now cause of firmware upgrade issues or are we confident well b able to upgrade

    Ps3 noob thanks u

buy a cheap one that is low hdd and low firmware and replace your hdd for like 69$ its cheaper that way unless its a gr8 deal ( im using the ps3 break1.0 and 1.1 no problems yet after i learned abit about install data lol)
and if you read a little bit b4 posting youd see a page about ftp servers on the homebrew scene This link here

I too want to be able to play backups on a ps3. I have backups of ps3, ps2 and ps1 games. It could play all of these right? I'm eyeballing this ps3: http://www.walmart.com/ip/PS3-Playstation-HW-and-PS-Move-bundle-PS3/14897789

Can I do it with that one? I hope so.

I'm guessing the backups would be transferred to the ps3's hdd by means of usb cable?

    Any help is much appreciated.

    ~Chris

EDIT: And just to clarify, by backups I don't mean on disc, I mean disc images that I would play right from the hdd.

Google is your friend. Psgroove and psfreedom are what to look for.

There are numerous guides and tutorials. If your getting a new ps3 do it soon before Sony ships them with firmware 3.50.

You can get a 500GB drive for $70 shipped, or you can go to a 1TB drive for about $130...best to upgrade to one of these, as the biggest drive they come with from Sony is a tiny 320GB.
