OK guys ive got an array of questions that i hope someone will be able to answer. Ok so firstly can anyone recommend some decent, preferably free ripping software. With my mac i used use handbrake, so simple, put it in select your settings and rip away. With the PC the whole process seems a bit long and alot more complicated. So can anyone please recommend free easy to use software to rip dvds into avi, mp4 etc formats that are watchable in VLC etc. OK secondly is authoring dvd tools. Say i have a dvd rip of 700 megs in avi format what is the best program, i have nero express which has the option for creating a dvd movie, but for some reason wont accept avi's and says i need a program like nero vision. I got a free program called "sothink movie dvd maker" this seemed to convert my avi into a dvd file with folders of audio_ts and video_ts ( like when u explore a dvd,) so i thought brill opened up nero selected the folder, it opened up the file and then i clicked burn ( no menu creation etc which is a bit odd so even if it did burn would it work without a menu?) and it gave me the error dvd reallocation failed ( or somthing along those lines). can anyone please give me some adivce as im gettin desperate. thanks guys
To my knowledge DVD ripping to video files has always been a lengthy process on windows, whenever i tried it always took 1 hour minimum and even then i never knew if i did it right as for the buring dvd folders you can try using BurnAware free edition or Ashampoo Burning studio free. as for your dvd ripping question there are programs out like DVDx but i havn't really kept up with this in years so things may have changed since then. you can try searching freewarefiles.com for any freeware applications you can use. hope this helps.
