Alright, So I've had my comp for a little over a year, and yesterday was my first time to mess around with burning DVD's,

I went out and baught some Memorex DVD+R 16X
Got DVD shrink and I was unable to burn, I kept getting the same errors.
I'm guessing it's using Nero to burn, so I updated my firmwear, and Nero. Here is a copy of the error msg. Thanks for any help u guys can give.

Am no expert on logfiles, but you might want to get rid of the serial number. Are you using a disc you have alredy burned from?

    What media are you using?

ohh, I had a DVD in the player that I tried to burn with earlier. I didn't realize it have info on it. I changed it out, and it tried to burn then failed.

I've only gotten one DVD to burn, and that was using Nero to make a Data DVD...

what burner do u have. even if u have a 16x burner i would burn at 4x to start out with. try using dvd decrypter to rip then use shrink to compress the file and nero to burn. and again i would get better media

So is everything sorted now? after you realised you had already burnt onto the disk. LOL that was a
you cannot erase data off DVD+R only off ReWritables. I would reccomend buying some Verb Datalife Pluses Quality disk you can't go wrong with them.

I was not trying to erase a non RW dvd.

My dvd drive is not 16x it only burns at 4x

how do I get Shrink to compress it so that nero can burn it? everytime i try and get it ISO formate it dosent actually make an ISO file, it makes like a MSD file.

    @WRXminion -

    - EDIT OUT your serial number from logfile post

    - bad move, get better media, i suggest Verbatim [bold]datalifeplus[/bold]. Also see the 2nd link in my signature for reasons to NOT buy Memorex media

    - ASPI layer is out of date. Get latest 4.71 here - http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/aspi.cfm

    - Strange, this link states DU07 is latest firmware (which sounds older than the firmware you have) - http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2014

Some further info here - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/206887

It concerns me that your version of firmware (DU31) seems to have no correlation with the DU07 that is listed for this drive. Will do more digging to see if this is the correct firmware.

    - DMA needs to be ON - fix it like this - http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/FAQ.htm

    - burning too close to outer edge of discs. In DVD Shrink's preferences, set target size to 4300MB thus avoiding the outer edge of discs and not sacrificing much space

    - your drive doesn't like those discs. Neither should you!

    - splat!

    - good speed to burn at, burning higher increases chances of bad burns or freezing/skipping movies, especially when you use bad media

    - uninstall Nero, uninstall completely bu using Nero's Clean Tools - " http://www.nero.com/en/Clean_Tools.html ", when you reinstall Nero make sure to NOT install Nero's InCD - it interferes with standard Nero Burning Rom

u dont have to do movies in iso. i only do games and software with iso. select file mode in decrypter-then open file with shrink and tick backup, nero should start automatically. if u want to burn in iso u can use decrypter or if u want to use nero select(burn image).
