    Hi guys,
I'm gonna tell u a story about a miserable guy (myself) who bought a ****ing 2.81 FW PSP today (22nd December 06) at my local Futureshop store (Canada).

Since a month now I've been reading every article and guide about the PSP and homebrew. I when out today to buy a PSP entertainment pack with Lords of Dogtown and ATV OF. I wasn't expecting a +2.80 FW and when I opened up at home I was freaking furious... The 2.81 doesn't even have the tiff exploit. I started looking for reasons that could motivate my refund or exchange. At first I found that the analog stick was a little less responsive to the left. I couldn't find anything else. I turned off my PSP and noticed dead pixels on the screen before it turned off. I downloaded some RGB black and white JPEG pics and counted the dead pixels. YES! I had 9 dead pixels plus a huge one that is a cluster of 3 dead pixels. I had my reasons... I started looking for my receipt and proof of purchase. I couldn't d*** find the sucker. So I called customer service and noticed the freaking thing staring in my face all along on my desk. Tommorow I'm gonna exchange my PSP for an other one in the shop hoping it ain't another 2.81 or 2.80+.

Anyways, I'm thinking of buying a $79.99 USD 1.50 motherboard off eBay and just switch the TA-082 inside with the virgin 1.50

I'm preaty shure I can change it but that's not the hard part. First of all, I'm 16 and I haven't got a credit card so I can't confirm my paypal account. I can transfer monney to the paypal account tough with my debit card that I still have to confirm with the confirmation they'll send me during the next 2-3 days. I just hope that the seller will be willing to sell to someone who has bought 0 items and has an unconfirmed shipping address. (There is currently only one seller selling a 1.50 Mobo). Wish me luck and yeah, I'll report back tomorrow if I succeed in getting a -2.71 FW and if I manage to ship a 1.50 mobo to my place. This is a huge drag. Especialy the fact that the PSP body protector I bought is total bull**** and that I wanna return that too. Hope that everything works out and I'll be able to run homebrew.

I payed 279$ CAD =241.245 $ USD for it. I'm just gonna exchange it and try to buy a 1.50 mobo here: http://cgi.ebay.ca/SONY-PSP-VERSION...yZ127746QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I ain't worried cus he's a Power Seller but I want a good step by step pic guide for changing the motherboard and I want to know if you need soldering and if there are some incompatibilities with factory TA-082 2.81 FW mobo swaping.

    Thx in advance

    power seller means jack.

13 neutral, 12 negative in the last month alone.

power sellers sell a lot, so they can afford to fusk up an order or two.

if you went on ebay, id stick with someone 99.5% and up, with no bad feedbacks in the last 6 months.

That's the only guy that sells PSP motherboards on ebay from what I know. I could maybe flatter him by saying something like: "If this order comes through, I promise that I'll buy you some other parts in the close future! I'll recommend you to the hole comunity." or something like that... That might rase his interests in completing the order.

Oh yeah! I went to Costco and got a 2.60 FW. Even if it's a TA-082, it's better than nothing.

lol i used to share ur pain too..

i too bought MANY psps in futureshop in canada.. and they too were all non-downgradable back then, so i returned them all and got a used 2.0 online which i downgraded to 1.5

it was cheaper than futureshop's and had better firmware
