Just bought 100 Bulkpaq 16X DVD-R. Nero 7 says they're 'illegal discs' and wont burn em. Burner reads 'NEC-2500A'

1st page of 2nd link in my signature says it all about my own experience with a certain type of Bulkpaq discs (8x Bulkpaq Orange with turned out to be [bold]FAKES[/bold] of Taiyo Yuden discs).
Anyway, try dvd identifier (free) - http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_tools/dvd_identifier.cfm to identify one of those discs and paste the results here....

i'm not gonna be surprised if the results come back with 'CMC Mag' or similar.....

plus Nero 7 isn't (legally out yet).

Anyway, for the logfile, post LAST section of your Nero log, which is in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log, but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar

you cold edit the pst and leave only the LAST section of logfile in here - this is the line that separates the sections of logfile -

    - i assume this is some kind of serial number, EDIT IT OUT

    - [bold]as far as i know, Nero 7 is not legally avalable 'til next month[/bold]

    - burner's firmware is 2 revisions out of date, 1.0A is here - http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1740

    - is the burner external, or in a USB enclosure ?

    - try better quality discs, see previous comments re my experience with Bulkpaq's - they're known for [bold]FAKE[/bold] discs. they don't actually make any discs, they just put their name to other people's

    - splat!

    - simulations are a great idea

    - gget rid of Roxio, it doesn't play well with Nero, you may well need to use Roxio Zapper to fully get rid..

Hey, creaky, How are you my friend? Am I correct about this log that it shows that the DMA is off? Just trying to learn how to read logs...you and many others here are simply great at reading and dissecting these things to get to the root of the problem...Thanks for yourknowlege.
