Hi, Guys I got Rrod a few days back so had read a lot about xclamp fix thought it was not that difficult so got all the tools thermal paste etc. So the First time i Did The Nylon washers Were too big that the Mobo and the Heatsink had in b/w so got it trimmed down so that Chips and the heatsink Will Contact each other they did eventually When I turned the 360 On The 3RROD where there for 3-4 min then the 2RROD mean Oveheating as it was said in many fixes you need to overheat so i did it For about 2-3minutes Then Swithed the Console off and restarted it And Again 3RROD Are Back Why is that The nylon Washers b/w the Heatsink and the Mobo are Quite THin since else they don't make contact at all. also i tried to loosen the screws and tighten Them also completely But Nothing is Working. Sometimes what happens is after i get the 3RROD they change to 2RROD but the Power Brick Light Color Also Changes to Yellow rather than being Green So that The Console Get's overheated. P.s Is there any way i can still Get this Fix to work also If Not Can I Atleast but back the Old Xclamps Back Since they are Difficult to put back as i Can See. Thanks
You need to overheat for longer. My buddy who does x-clamp fixes lets it sit for 10 mins, I believe. Or you need to get a heat gun and reflow like that. And you definitely need to start using periods to end your sentences.
sorry about that so just overheat it for 10min will it do since the paste is already in the GPU and CPU now. should i redo the task again applying thermal paste again also I had to cut my nylon washers a bit since they looked to big due to which mobo and the heatsink were not contacting. So Should I Keep it that way or just Use the Washers normally without cutting them since for the overheating part if the mobo and the heatsink are not in contact the power brick turns Yellow. So i had to cut the washers and just tighten them a bit not too tight but enough so that heatsink don't move back and forth a bit.
If you had to modify the washers, I would recommend getting some that were more suited to the task, as well. I've never personally done one of these fixes, just passing on the little info I know.
Okk i fixed It yesterday Did the baking trick etc it worked yesterday fine now Today I tried to Play again And It Showed 3Reds Again I First Diconnected all the Cables Did this abt 3-4 times And The 360 Gave Green lights Played For 2hrs. Then again I Switched it On in the Eve again Same prob 3reds with 0020 error code again did the disconnecting procedure and did this time abt 10 times Again 360 worked Played COD:WAW for 2.5Hrs. Now Tried the 3rd Time It again Shows 3Reds. What the issue I used Artic Cooling MX2 Compound Though I removed the Heatsinks Few Times Since i Had to do some Adjustments.But i don't think that is what causing it since the paste was very much there. I had Earlier Used Nylon Washer but they were too big and the Mobo and heatsink were not contacting so had to cut them so that mobo and GPU made contact does this have to do anything with the 3reds Or Could this be a Power brick Issue Since I hardly play games that Much But still. Can anyone help Me out
