Yes all 3 go at the same time.. thats how its designed. Its standalone, controlled by a cpu card. I also have another that I'm getting thats 9 at the same time at 12x or 7 at 16x.. and yes i know TY are the best, I'm just going by what's occured for me. To be honest the TY coastered mainly because of read errors from the source disc, I just happen to use more TYs, but really they both burn great for me in all my burners. I will do some memorex tests now and see how they compare.
actually, i WOULD seriously consider burning TYG03s @8x, i have suggested this time and time again regarding these 16x rated discs...i have a feeling you WILL get better results docTY
Burning 16x TYG03s at 8x would seriously defeat the purpose and slow my business down 50%. How can you rate something high quality if you dont use them to their rated potential. The TY's work great at 16x, like I said its mainly bad source discs. I've never had a faulty TY (meaning never has the drive suspended while burning, this is what happens on the triplicator device, if one media goes bad, the rest continue) and I've never had a faulty memorex either. but I did run some nero dvd speed tests last night tho. My Memorex are CMC and tested at max speed and 4x speed both came in around quality of 70. Which I agree is pretty bad. havent tested TYs there yet, but I've seen the results all over the forums here. So yea its safe to say memorex is crappy, but compared to others like imation, memorex is plenty decent as long as there is no failures during burn. I also do verify on 1 out of 7 discs, and all verify normally.
...i hate to say it...but see my first reply (on this page).... and as to burning speeds...http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/266706
Oh I know the old story of burning audio CD's too fast some people claimed to hear clicks and pops and dvds you might see a glitch on the screen for a moment so short that it means nothing. The stats and errors from nero are so detailed, but to the viewer you will see no noticeable difference. Since its my home business, I burn about 600 Discs a week on my multiple burning equipment, all at 16x, all without any complaints from customers, and without any noticeable difference when I watch them on my own. Don't be scared by a few numbers in the disc tests. This however is all IMHO, do what you like, but if you have the skill to be able to watch a movie at 8x and then at 16x and notice any difference (assuming its from a clean original) then power to you.
I've been reading,but could someone Unique Disc Identifier : [DVD+RRODISC-R05-001] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Disc & Book Type : [DVD+R] - [DVD+R] Manufacturer Name : [Prodisc Technology Inc.] Manufacturer ID : [PRODISC] Media Type ID : [R05] Product Revision : [001] Blank Disc Capacity : [2,295,104 Sectors = 4.70 GB (4.38 GiB)] Recording Speeds : [1x-2.4x , 4x , 6x-8x , 6x-16x] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- [ DVD Identifier V4.2.0 - http://DVD.Identifier.CDfreaks.com ] tell me about these:
Is that MID code from a spindle of Memorex +16x? How much $ ? Prodiscs aren't exactly good quality media. It's up there with cmags/AML/and moser bauer. I wouldn't burn them very fast, and I'd keep the backup target at 4300 mbs.I also wouldn't put anything important on them. Some stand alones do have trouble with the lower quality media.
They are Fujifilm. Got at BJ'S ON 3-DAY SALE. 50 PACK 19.99 WITH 10.00 INSTANT REBATE+++ 5.00 MAIL-IN REBATE. Bought 10 packs needless to say. Only thing is they won't burn any faster than 4x even though they say 16x.I usally use HP 8X and don't have any problems. I use IOMAGIC 12X DUAL FORMAT BURNER with updated firmware. Also on the fuji discs I only got away with 2 mail in rebates but hey, still think I got a deal.
Those fuji +16x's are made in taiwan,by prodisc. This is newer media,so I haven't heard too many posts about it. Those are probably the same as the fuji's on sale at bestbuy this week-all made in taiwan. These are the spindles of 100,for $29.99.
do NOT buy fujifilm! they are absolute junk, you can see lines all over all the DVD R's in the light and i had to burn at least 6 coasters untill i got a perfect burn, most of the time i got loads of blotches where the DVD R did not burn properly. dont buy these peices of junk! i am changing back to maxwell soon! maxwell are the real true A* media.
This just simply is not 100% true!! If you buy the made in Taiwan FujiFilm discs which are made by ProDisc ... now these are junk However ... if you bother to look through the stacks to find the made in Japan gems ... these babies are top notch Taiyo Yuden made discs .. you just can't buy anything better It sometimes takes as many as one play to break down a Memorex disc ...
the disc ID was definitely not Taiyo Yuden the Disc ID for my DVD+R media is R03 02. i get perfect burns now becasue i updated my firmware for my drive, no more 6 coasters to get 1 clean disc.
The thing about total crap media is very often it will work FINE at first, but 6-12 mos down the road it will deteriorate. Now, u can run your mouth about how it burned OK. Fine by me... but when you lose your data less than a yr, maybe a bit longer, then who will be crying THEN? I use quality media that professional musicians, data archivers & that has a reputation for quality. That is Taiyo Yuden. If you are worried about fake media, I recommend clicking here: http://www.supermediastore.com/taiyo-yuden-how-to-tell-fake-or-real.html Good luck. With media, you get what you paid for!
if you want media from walmart definitely get the Made in japan Sony media. 50 pack for it think 24.00 or go to www.supermediastore.com
