How big is your hard drive? Go to Start>My computer. Click once on C Drive - in the details screen to the left it will show you how big the drive is and how much space is left.
Have you cleaned out your recycle bin? Check on see how much is in there and empty it - that will clear up some space. Also you can go to start> accesories>system tools>disc cleanup. This tool will also empty the recycle bin and any other temp files that you may no longer need.
See who much space this clears out. Don't forget to defrag also if you haven't done so recently
    See if this helps

Delete the unused files on your hdd and get rid of excess junk, and empty your recycle bin. Then defrag your hdd. It's recommended you have 10-15 gb (8 gb min) free space to encode/transcode. I also recommend newegg for a new hdd. SATA if your mobo is equiped to do so. Here's the link. http://www.newegg.com/ProductSort/Category.asp?Category=15
