Not enough space to burn this compilation

I am having a problem converting an AVI file to DVD-5. Using Nero Vision 4.5.0.29 to convert an AVI file to DVD, I set the quality to Automatic (fill to disk). The final burn page reports Total space used: 4.37 out of 4.38 GB (Quality: Average) but when it finishes transcoding it says that my disk is too small and to replace it. BTW, the movie is 1:48 long.

I burned the project to my hard drive and checked properties of the VIDEO_TS folder - 4.66 GB. Nero Vision seems to be transcoding the file much bigger than the 4.38 GB limit. I also tried changing the quality to Long Play at a lower bitrate which "should" have lowered the final size to 3.88 GB. Still didn't work. The final VIDEO_TS folder is 4.54 GB which is smaller, but still too big.

    Any ideas?

    Hi cabsparks
Long play should have worked I would think. Try setting it to standard play with the sample and audio format set to automatic.
Adding anything to the menus like mp3's, jpeg's etc?

That would be nice but since it ain't happening - members here try and help out to resolve the problem....
