you have to have someway to launch the Freemcboot installer. The installer will install the freemcboot program on to the memory card in slot 1. Freemcboot uses a flaw in the sony ps2 bios. Sony was planing on making the ps2 dvd player updatable (better performance for playing movies). sony then decided to scrap the plan since it took up space on the memory card. They left that option still in the bios allowing hackers to find a way to run code from the memory card. In order to run Freemcboot, you have to find a way to run the installer first. you will need some sort of exploit such as swapping discs, action replay, or a swap magic disc.

My advice is get a phat or phat's,any version/s. Just to walk the talk.I have hard modded ps2 slims however i now since just before theisozone went down bought & modded around 6 phats, 2 of which have 1tb internalized hdd's. If i had of known modding ps2 phats was so dam easy i wouldn't have gone to the expense of hard modding slims..retrozone was born out of the ashes of iso i.e curbside pharmacist & the gang are there
