So I know I've read some people have done this but can't find anything regarding how and where it can be found. So I am looking at loading in a sample of someone's voice to the computer so that things I type will be read in their voice. In case what I am asking is confusing here is what I am trying to do:

I'm sure everyone has heard of the new superman that came out titled "Man of Steel. Well in the movie when Kal-El finds the ship frozen the arctic he sees an open pod then see's someone dead in another pod. It was quite confusing, but then I read that someone did a prequel comic that show's who was in the open pod. Of course being a comic there are just text bubbles with no voice. What I want to do is take different voices had have them read the text bubbles.

I thank everyone that takes the time to help!!

It would be cool if i could have angry posts read out loud in samuel.l.jacksons voice or it would even be cool in jason stathams angry accent.

I get what you mean, load a voice and have stuff on your screen narrated/read in that voice.I have seen sound boards preloaded with celebrity voices.I actually have no idea how you'd make the voice play back in real time without everything pre recorded.

its all by samples.. %$% "word" = sample.xxx.wav .. kinda thing.. you need dictionary tables and words to match.. and then it's good to go.. and have a look at open source versions of the screen reader programs like jaws.. therein lies your clue.. you can make the samples yourself.. but you will need a damn large collection of films to get a wide enough range of words.. without getting too funky with envelopes and phonetics..

haven't played about with this stuff for decades.. used to do a lot of sampling and sequencing on dos way back in the day of the Fairlight processing and yamaha midi sequencers
